The boats, bags and paddles are all packed up along with the necessary repair kit (hoping that doesn't get used too often). So with them all gone onto the bus, it is all beginning to feel real. My conscious mind has stepped up a gear and the single track focus is creeping in.
The majority of things are in place and it mainly a case of having my passport in hand and boarding a flight... but I will have to wait until next Friday before I do that. I have a few more days of training to go in the UK as well as a few work days. So the excitement and anxiousness is beginning to build.
In order to occupy my mind I have been working on the book. There were a few more items I needed to do before starting the publishing process. Writing both a long and short description of the book proved to be a little harder than I thought. So I have spent the weekend writing a sentence and then deleting and re-writing. How hard is it to summarise a book in 400 characters (including spaces) - damn difficult! However, I have finally managed it and am happy with the look. The final version of the front cover is now with me and it is pretty cool (if I say so myself). So what is left ... well just the checking, re-checking and then I hope in the next few days I can say .... you can pre-order it!
So if it is not enough that I am preparing for a world championships and world cup series, I thought I would up the anti and try and get the book sorted before I leave... hmmm planning! Some might say I am mad doing both together and two weeks ago. I did think that too. However, spending my sunday sitting outside watching the world go by and typing on my laptop has been very rewarding.
Fingers crossed in the next two days, I will write another blog post and it will have the title of 'PRE ORDER MY BOOK HERE'
Thank you to everyone for supporting me. My emotions may get the better of me with this book launching, so watch out for some happy tears!
