Well rest and recuperation are two things so often not respected and neglected. For me I often tell people to rest but really I should be taking my own advice!
So ... Currently I am taking my own advice and am taking some tlc in the sun. Having the sun on my back listening to waves gives me plenty of time to energize myself once more. The last few weeks have been manic, very stressful and just before I left on Wednesday I was running from one end of the country to the other as well as trying to sort out problems with my house ... ( we won't talk about the fact I may need my roof taken off, that doesn't help anyone's stress or pocket levels with Xmas looming). So all in all I have not been able to look after myself. So now I have two weeks of relaxing to do and time for me to truely to switch off. I say fully switch off, actually I will get the opportunity to read the first full draft of te book. The book has truely opened up many things to me. It has made me realise what is worthwhile pursuing and what things are important in life. I have made changes in my work so I shall be going part time to concentrate on what truely matters for me. I have taken on a mentoring role as an athlete mentor to engage young people into sport...as well as start moving towards having my own business.
So all in all it has been a busy time for me... The next two weeks I shall be listening to waves crash onto a beach, spending time catching up with my mum, (who is joining me on this R&R). Then finally, as it is me we are talking about and just sitting on a beach is not my thing, I shall be startng to ramp up training looking to set plans in motion for my next goal or target.
So for all who may read this, pictures will follow and hope you too can take that time to have some R&R, remember it is important ... If you are not 100% how can you expect to help others or get your optimal performance. That performance being in your workplace, home life or in training. I know my temper and my temperament can be massively impacted when I get tired and run down.
Take care all... :o)
