Well I have just arrived back home after a fantastic few days paddling on the River Dart down in Devon. I spent four days coaching a group on white water, working on their river reading and personal skills. I have to admit I thoroughly enjoyed myself and it was evident from the smiles on river and the conversations off the river how much they enjoyed it too. It is really rewarding to see someone achieve something they did not think was possible and then they have that realisation that actually anything is possible if the right opportunities present themselves.
Well done to the paddlers from Royal Leamington Spa, Chelmsford, Deben and Sudbury. I hope to see you on a river again in the not too distant future!
As well as the coaching I also got a couple of days to just play on the river myself. After six days paddling on white water and clocking up between 40km to 55km a day, it is nice to have a not so active day today. I am truly lucky to have such a fab sport which takes me to places in the countryside that most never get to see.
