As the title suggests, I am suffering from a lack of voice. I woke on thursday morning to a croak and since then it has just well got worse... or as I would say funnier. I sound, well what sound is left like a mouse. If you could hear me you would laugh... I am. It makes for entertainment as I found out yesterday at my departments xmas lunch :o)
I did have a brilliant day yesterday, I was at Nicholas Chamberlin Technology College for a project visit as part of the Sky Sports Living For Sport programme. I worked with 7 students from year 10 and did a assembly for their sixth form students. I was proud I got my voice projected, even though as I spoke and tried to put emotion into my voice, the effect was slightly lost as I went from a low to a high pitch mouse. The overall day was probably one of my most rewarding so far. It was really nice to work with a small group and you can get to know the students and listen to them. For their practical session, I took them out of their comfort zone and took them through some throw line technique and rescueing. They looked like they enjoyed themselves and how they use their voice to communicate came a long way!
I realise I have not blogged for a while. Life has been very busy once again. I spent the last two weeks desperately trying to sort my house out ... once again ... this time trying to get to the bottom of a condensation problem. I seem to be getting a dab hand at DIY these days. So after stripping plaster and then putting up dry lining, I have added yet more skills to my growing set. The end affect and my skimming I am quite proud of. I also went to my Nans funeral, it was sad. Both grandparents on one side of my family have passed away this year. It is probably one of the reasons why I have been keeping busy.
As I sit here, with my faithful dog next to me. I hope for a good day. On my playlist of music, jungle book has just come on 'I want to be like yooouuuu ooo whooo' and that has to be a good omen as a way to start the day.
Happy weekend to you all!
