I have just come into departures and I am now awaiting my flight... So I am sat here thinking 'it's actually happening!'
A very serial morning and week if I am honest. I have been overwhelmed with the kindness of my friends and work colleagues. From being dropped off at the airport at silly o clock in the morning by Emma (which absolutely has gone above and beyond this week by organising, decorating my desk at work and making cakes - very very tasty) to the cards of good luck and the many hand shakes of good luck. I am now sat at the airport with a big smile on my face and also emotional at the support I have received. It feels like I could do with a big hug, lol.
However, now I need to get my game face on as it is time to put all of my prep into action. Later today I shall be on a train past Lake Como and then will see the river for the first time. I am looking forward to my first paddle down the course.
I shall endeavour to keep my blog updated with my antics and general updates whilst I am away. Although it will be a little dependent on internet access... Although I am sure the joys of technology will surprise me :o)
So I shall now sign off and finish this post knowing the fact I have got everything in place, the book is ready for pre-order (I did not think I would have managed to get that sorted before I went ... But I am so glad I have). Amazingly with the book done, work finished and all other things in hand, I can for once concentrate solely on the job at hand and have nothing else to distract me.
As the song goes ... I'm leaving on a jet plane, don't know when il be back again ... Lol well other
